Treat yourself kindly and compassionately. Allow that to be the standard for how you should expect to be treated by others.
You don’t have to continue a failing friendship just because you’ve known each other a long time. You don’t have to remain in an unhealthy relationship just because you’ve already put in so many years. That’s not a rule. You didn’t sign a contract to engage in eternal misery.
It’s a shame that this wonderful holiday celebrating love, leads so many men and women into a stage of sadness and depression, stemming from many not having a partner in which to share romantic love. This day of love, Valentine’s Day, is not just for love shared between couples. It’s for LOVE, in all its meanings, especially two as defined in Webster’s dictionary, 1) a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
2) a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.
In today’s blog post, “Do You Know Labels Matter?”, I speak about why we must realize that labels matter and the importance of not readily accepting the labels others give us, especially when those labels have no merit or factual basis to stand on.
