A Better You

We have all heard the phrase, “No one is perfect.”  This statement is true, has stood the test of time and you’d be hard pressed to find someone to disagree with it.  So why is it then, that it is human nature to tell ourselves that we are “fine” just the way we are? How do you grow if you are not making the needed changes to improve? Growth, maturity and success all have one thing in common… CHANGE.  I’ve also heard the phrase, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.”  Again, if we know these things, why do we so easily accept mediocracy and refuse to work on improving ourselves? We want others around us to be nicer, kinder, smarter, more considerate, yet, we fail to recognize the need for self-improvement.  Let’s do things differently. Let’s start with ourselves. Only then can we clearly see the need for change in others.
