Are you Fighting the Right Battle?

When in a relationship of getting to know someone you will discover commonalities but you will also discover differences. No one you meet will have the same views and opinions that you have and that’s okay. When looking at the differences ask yourself these few questions: If they have this opinion forever can I live with it? Does their outlook on the particular topic harm me in anyway? Are they forcing me or shaming me to see it from their viewpoint? If you can live with them believing the sky is red when you think it’s purple, then it’s not  a big deal. If they aren’t demanding that you say it’s red “or else”, then all is well. Most of the battles we fight are not worth it. Don’t let small things cause you to fall out with someone you love. Save your energy for the battles you will need to fight together. Your partner is not your opponent.
