KING CROWN EB BE C

Are You That King? | Queen, Do You See Him?

Today's blog post "Are You That King?" is inspired by the promo trailer for the documentary Aftershock, which details how women of color, specifically, black women die in child birth at 3 to 4 times the rate of white women, which ultimately leaves the child with one parent - the father... ~Sometimes it can feel like no one sees you, values you, or appreciates you; so keeping that your worth will never be seen by all and still it’s definitely worth more than words can say to those who matter even when they can’t or don’t know how to best express it.~ Coach Sam

So today I want to talk to the kings and queens you benefit because you desire your own King. Now have you ever been on YouTube just surfing the web and the next thing you know YouTube hit you with an ad before you can watch a video.

And you really didn’t want to see an ad you really just wanted to watch the video but YouTube let you know how you’re going to have to watch this ad and you’re going to have to watch for at least 5 seconds because if you don’t you will not get to see this video.

Well that happened to me yesterday but in the end I was glad that I saw the ad that they showed me the ad that it was mandatory I had to watch it for at least 5 seconds because it inspired this blog.

The promo was for Aftershock which is basically a documentary talking about how women of color in particular black women are three to four times more likely to die in childbirth than white women are and in the end the children are left with who – the father and as you know this is Father’s Day weekend.

So, I just wanted to pause for a moment and recognize the men, the father’s out there in the world who are truly and really showing up and I’m not talking about just paying child support because you can’t pay child support and the child may never see you they may never feel or have a connection with you because all you’re doing is paying money.

And while this admirable the thing about it is it takes more than financial support to truly be there for your child. So this is for the men for the fathers who are showing up regularly – on the daily, putting in the work – making sure beds are made, making sure homework is done, making sure the child gets off to school, making sure they have what they need emotionally as well as financially, going to PTA meetings, and in the list goes on and on and on.

This is for the fathers doing the work that the single moms are doing and we know that mom’s really do show up for their children but please understand and know that fathers do to that they just sometimes to not get the recognition in the credit they deserve for showing up. And like I said when they go into the store sometimes, the love is not there as well.

And so if you’re a father and sometimes you walking through the stores on Father’s Day Weekend and you wondering what happened? Don’t let that discourage you because at the end of the day all retailers they want to do one thing – and that’s make a profit and the fact of the matter is Mother’s Day they know it’s going to be a profitable event.

So, they’re going to do all that they can to make sure that their bottom-line reflects that they made a profit. So, it’s really not about the mom but again it’s about the profit. And as a father you have to understand that you’re not going to always get the credit, get the value that due to you from everybody.

But from those people who truly matter eventually in some shape form or fashion they will show that to you they will show you that they care that they love you and in the case that they don’t or in the case that they can’t – You could have an infant.

You could be in a situation where the woman that you were with, she passed during childbirth. That child may not be able to communicate to you right now that they do love and appreciate you for what you for what you do for them.

That you are seen, that you are valued, that you are cared about – so I just wanted to pause today to say Happy Father’s Day we see you we appreciate you we definitely appreciate you men who are showing up with your kingdom mindset.

Because again you can be a good father and still not be anchored in the King. So, for those of you who are actually going that extra mile – letting  your child know hey in this house we will serve the Lord.

Shout out to you! I salute you today. I’m proud of you, even though you may not know me. I’m glad to see that men are showing up, especially my brothers because we know a lot of times brothers get a bad rap of being dogs, being unfaithful, being uncommitted, and being trifling baby daddies.

But that’s not all men and I just wanted to acknowledge that today.

~Sometimes it can feel like no one sees you, values you, or appreciates you; so keeping that your worth will never be seen by all and still it’s definitely worth more than words can say to those who matter even when they can’t or don’t know how to best express it.~ Coach Sam
