Beating the odds is not always linked to a marathon, sporting event, or competition. We all have some obstacles that are thrown in our path that we must overcome. We all have some lessons to learn. We all have an innate purpose to fulfill. We beat the odds daily but not by our own merit or grace. We often tend to take for granted that whenever we excel in any facet that it is for no other reason than that God has given us the grace to do so. We are all living witnesses of God’s promises and a minister of God’s grace.
We often get into a rhythm where our momentum is going at a full speed, and we are encumbered with exhilaration and then it either slows down or comes to a screeching halt. The trajectory of forward has somehow shifted. And we are perplexed because we cannot place our finger on exactly what went wrong. Allow me to give you six practical tools that will assist you in keeping the momentum going!
Applying mindset towards taking massive action towards success.
Don’t try to push yourself to reach another person’s idea of success. This is something that simply won’t work, not to mention that what success looks like to many is superficial. A certain car, house, clothes, and reckless spending. Nope, folks have half of those things on credit anyway! Seek to be right spiritually, look for opportunities to give kindness, don’t live beyond your means, and operate in peace. Then as you are clear to walk in your purpose, you will find your success.
We all have the capacity to rise above any situation, the key however is our ability to believe through courage, faith and hope it is possible.
Abuse and exploitation are constant dangers for people with developmental disabilities. According to a recent study, they are four to ten times more likely to be abused than their peers without disabilities. In this workshop, adults with developmental disabilities and their families will learn what abuse is, what the signs of abuse are, what to do if you or a loved one has experienced abuse and what steps can be taken to reduce the risk of abuse.
