“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3
Life isn’t fair. There are so many things we have to change within ourselves and forgive others for. Disappointment, illness, loss, heartbreak and rejection are all a part of our time here on earth – that is for sure! But faith is not about the things we experience, but the things we blindly hope for – the things we cannot yet see.
What has God spoken to you about?
What has He whispered into your heart?
Take some time to actually imagine what He has spoken to you.
Has He brought back some dreams and visions you’ve long since abandoned since childhood?
Do you think you’re too old, too out of shape, too busy, too stressed to pursue what you dreamt of?
Think of God as a loving Father hoping to bless you, anxious to bless you – to show you just how special He believes you are. We are a flawed, yet fearfully made creation in our Heavenly Father’s eyes.
I encourage you to try on hope – take some time to truly hope and expect great things in your life. Get still. Breathe deep. Imagine experiencing the joy, peace, acceptance, and appreciation you desperately crave in real time. Imagine being completely understood without explanation. Imagine taking your rightful place in society, encouraging others while you bask in excellence. Imagine having all of your needs met and not having to answer to anyone but God.
You try it and I’ll try it. What if everything God promised you was on the way… waiting patiently for you to simply receive it before you actually saw it?
Allow yourself to dream a little…
Are you thinking of some things now? Do they make you smile to yourself? If so, you’re on the right track! Now, don’t shrink back when you sense just how major it is. Accept it, drink it in – receive the goodness God created for you and BELIEVE with your whole heart that it is one the way.
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11
Most times you know it’s a part of God’s plan if you think its ‘too big’ for you to handle on your own. You’re absolutely right! Trust God as if you are a child – not knowing what it will look like, sound like, feel like, how old you’ll be, who’ll see it coming, or who all might be around while you walk into it. Trust God with all of the little details.
