Emotional Walls Can Help or Hurt

Most of us have been hurt deeply at one time or another by people that we thought loved us. The majority of the time, as a result of this hurt, we build emotional walls and boundaries to prevent ourselves from being hurt again. These walls are necessary for those that have taken advantage of our good nature. However, keeping up the same walls for those that truly love with genuine concern for us only cripples healthy relationships. Discern and adjust your walls accordingly. Compassion wins.
