Excerpt from, ” Healing For The Broken Heart” My 30 Day Devotional Book!

This is an excerpt from my first book! This was very important for me to write because I wanted women to have a relatable devotional to cling to while going through a breakup. In this devotional all the highs and lows are discussed. I speak on how to move on and the urge to go back to what is familiar because we have to get uncomfortable and move on to experience the unknown. So if you enjoyed this snippet consider checking out the full book on Amazon. Thanks and enjoy!

Day 10: I deserve better

Don’t forget who you are ladies! It’s hard to come out of a break up and not feel lost. From my own experience, I had to find myself again. I was so caught up in pleasing this man and making sure that I was everything he needed, that I had nothing left for myself. I had to rediscover me! If you can relate to this, I just want to let you know there is hope. There is a way to build back up your confidence and that is by knowing who you are in God. Psalms 139:14 says, “I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are your works, And that my soul knows very well.” Remember that God is good and if you believe he is your creator, then you are good too!

Continue to search out all the ways God has encouraged us to be brave, powerful and loving. He never wants us to doubt our self worth or think less of ourselves. Take this time to write out a few things that you like about your personality and the way that God created you.

Let’s pray:

Father God, thank you for creating and loving me, just the way I am. Help me Lord to understand that I deserve better in relationships and if it didn’t work out, it’s because it wasn’t supposed to. I will accept the things I can’t change and move forward. I know you want the best for me and I want that for myself. Please help me God to align with your plan and purpose for my life. I trust that when the time is right you will bring someone in my life who knows my worth. He will confirm what your word has already said in Ephesians 2:10, that reads, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (NLT)

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Day 11: Let’s look and see what he’s up to?

We all have our vulnerable moments where we can’t shake it and decided to go snooping. If this hasn’t happened to you, then I’m sure one of your girlfriends has told you about it. That moment when you are feeling lonely and you just want to know what he’s up to. Does he miss me? Has be moved on already? Is his new girl cuter than me? I get it, it happens, and unfortunately we fall into the trap of becoming inspector gadget. Next thing you know, you going down a whole rabbit whole to find out things you should have left in the dark. After viewing his pages on social media, you feel worse off than you started.

You have to remember when going through this break up process, you are trying to MOVE ON SIS! You are trying to break the connection with this person and it doesn’t help to try and keep tabs on them. It’s like saying you want to stop drinking and then going to a bar every night. Do not revisit places or people who do not serve you well. Stick to the end goal and respect yourself by practicing discipline in that area. Remember what we spoke about earlier sis, don’t be a fool. Choose your actions wisely. Let’s pray.

Father God, thank you for being such an understanding God. Help me daily to deny my flesh and stay focused. For your word say in Proverbs 4:27, “Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.” (NLT) Help me Lord to stop entertaining things I know are no good for me. Day by day I pray you help me through this until I reach a place of peace. Lord, give me a glimpse of the other side, so I can build up my faith to keep pressing forward.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
