Falling Forward

Today I was listening to the “Best Commencement Speeches” and the one that resonated with me was Denzal Washington’s speech on

Falling Forward. The gist of his speech was about how we should handle failure. I am sure you, like me, have experienced plenty of failures in life.

I can’t even count at how many things I’ve failed at but I no longer keep track. It doesn’t matter how many times you have failed or been hurt or been abandoned.

That’s life. God told us we would have trouble in this life, he, PROMISED that there would be. A famous scripture that everyone likes to quote is, “no weapon that forms against

me shall prosper.” Isaiah 54:17, it goes on to say, “and every tongue that rises against me in judgment shall be condemned.”

See, God predicted these things would happen but they would not prosper! That means we will have struggles and failures but we already have the victory in Christ. It’s all about how you handle the failure. Do you just give up? NO! A reporter asked Thomas Edison, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” He said

“I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps!” I leave you with this simple command. Never give up.
