Grief – A few ways to cope

Get healing however you can...

For as many people as there are grieving, there are as many ways of dealing with grief. Because grief is a natural process, listening to your mind and body is the best indicator of what you need to do to deal with grief to process it out of your system. Having any clue of what is going on in your mind or body during a time when you may feel overwhelmed or numb – as can often be the case when mourning – can be very difficult though.

So here are a few tips that have been known to help many. If they don’t work for you, don’t worry. Your path may be different, and that’s ok. Also, not all of these steps need work for you. Just take what works and leave the rest and heal.

– Take RADICAL care of yourself

– FEEL your feelings

– NO judging your feelings

– Be PATIENT with yourself

– MOVE your body

– TALK to a professional if you feel it would help or if nothing else seems to be helping

This too will pass.

Nothing hidden can heal. The only way out is through.

One breath at a time, one step at a time, one day at a time – that’s all you have anyway…and that’s all you have to do.
