Many people mistake a perfect partner with a partner that is perfect for you. Make no mistake, none of us are perfect…and so, I consciously ask God for a good man, who is good to me, and a good fit for me. Don’t set yourself up for failure with false and unrealistic expectations. Seek someone who is perfect for you. Know that even if both of you are coming into the situation whole, you still have your own set of challenges, obstacles, and baggage. The questions that you must ask yourself are can you handle their shortcomings…do their strengths and weaknesses compliment yours…can you work together to overcome so that you can make this work in a healthy and mutually beneficial way?
