ROLE MODELS CAUTION

Role Models.  Who are your role models? Who do you strive to be like?  Our role models can be teachers, family members, fictional characters in movies or TV, public or private personalities.  Role models and mentors can be necessary to inspire us and give us the courage to take risks. Honor these individuals who inspire you for their contributions and wisdom, but recognize that you are not going to be just like them, do not use what you think you know about them against yourself. Be aware of the sneakiness of self-judgment (read that again).  Surrender to your unfolding in your own time.  Let go of using other’s accomplishments to beat yourself up. Better yet, be inspired and motivated by the beauty and skill around and within you.
