Run Your Own Race

There comes a time when we must start working on ourselves instead of worrying about what other people think of us. We too often find that the criticism and opinions of those who don’t have our best interests at heart seem to keep us from living our best life. As a result, our goals and aspirations become consumed with what other people think we should be doing. You must realize that what God has for you is for you and that no one can take that away if you don’t allow it.

Don’t let how someone else is living affect what you were called to do. If you have a calling to sweep floors, be the best floor sweeper in the world. If you love coaching other people, make sure that you put forth 100% effort into polishing your craft and doing your best. Although there are millions of floor sweepers and life coaches, it is your duty to focus on your life and operate in a way that is best for you. Focus on your strengths and constantly get better at what you’re good at. It makes no sense trying to be exactly like someone else because they have their own gifts. We must understand that there is enough room in this world for each and every one of us.

I challenge everyone to discover what you’re good at and become great at it. It’s okay to get ideas from others, but it’s not okay to let them rule and reign over you. There is something great inside of you and that greatness needs to be shown, but it can’t spread if you constantly try to live a life that was not meant for you to live.
