ANDROPAUSEANDMETABOLICSYNDROME

Testosterone can impact mood, sleep and body composition

Testosterone is important in determining mood in both men and women, but is most important for men. Men who are deficient may seem more emotional, depressed, irritable or anxious. Andropause is used to talk about a low testosterone level, similar to menopause in women. Low testosterone can occur at any age and is affecting huge numbers of men right now. Stress, poor sleep and poor diet may affect testosterone levels and affect fertility. Symptoms are poor sleep, sweats, irritability, sadness, crying, and anxiety that are out of character for that person. It can cause weight loss to become difficult and contribute to a "pot" belly. It can affect sexual desire and functioning. It can be easily tested at home using saliva or urine.
