There is no progression without regression.
By: Andre Canales
You took responsibility for yourself, deciding to end a connection with a person who could no longer serve you any good. Somewhere in between that time and the memories created, you grew up. You grew into yourself and sometimes outgrew the people around you. You walk a path of life, as we all do, but it won’t always mean you can bring everything and everyone with you. And holding on to those you love but can no longer keep is strain; the relief lies within letting go.
The purity in your heart is from the goodness you give to others and handling life with care, but to an extreme, some lose care for themselves from pouring their last into others until they’re completely dry. Like everyone else, you are deserving of just as much care.
The goal is to grow with everyone in your circle. A growing bond happens when you take and reciprocate the good, however, be leery that the bad can be taken and returned to others, just as well, only nurturing the toxicity that stunts your growth.
When the time came for my mother to teach us to be discerning of people, she told us the interesting words that many people will share with you on your blessings, but won’t wish you well. She had advised us to be cautious of who exactly we accept into our lives.
You process and use the things that happen around you. The people you keep can either make you or break you with either the finest learnings or with the negatives of life. Your time and attention is valuable, turning anything into gold can just as well turn them into coal, and so it’s an ability to be used wisely.
You grow just as well as plants do and you dwindled the same way too. Only with the finest sources can a plant flourish into the rich greenery, but the slightest source of poor quality can regress the plant.
When you choose what is best for you, you choose yourself. And it’s an admirable act. A selfish act of self love taking strength and courage to accept that it’s time to leave and carry on with your life.
The circle you keep can be abused, but with the right time and attention, it can be really good to you. Having the right people, the ones who fulfill your growth and potential, who stimulate in-depth thinking, provoke your ambition, will complete you to a desirable finish marking you for life.
