The Power of Your Mind

Your mind is truly POWERFUL. I know you have heard the saying “ A mind is a terrible thing to waste”, and it couldn’t be anymore accurate. Some people deal with health issues while others deal with endless pits of sadness or internal wounds that they don’t know how to fix. People go from doctor to doctor, therapist to therapist and sometimes they still can’t  resolve there issues. The only thing that can ever truly be sick is your MIND. When you have a unhealthy mind (I.e unhealthy thoughts) it can manifest as Physical or mental ailments. Did you know that there are studies that show repressed anger as a precursor to cancer? In other words letting thoughts of anger and resentment build up in your body can cause cancer. Other than physical or mental ailments your thoughts are creating your reality in general. It’s simple. When you think positively you get positive results and vice versa. If you walk around with the belief  “I’m not good enough”, that is exactly how people will treat you or you will attract situations that make you feel that exact way. You may not even be aware that you have the negative thought, because it is not always a conscious thought.

Your mind has multiple levels of consciousness, but the ones that I am going to discuss are the conscious and subsconcious mind.  The conscious mind contains all of your thoughts, memories, and feelings that you are aware of at any time. The subconscious mind is comprised of  the feelings, thoughts, and memories that you are not aware of . The subconscious mind is the source of your behavior. Your feelings, actions and decisions are influenced by past experiences and stored in this part of your mind (positive or negative). When you think a thought repeatedly,  it gets ingrained in your subconscious mind and that’s when you have an issue. Even if your not aware of the thought, I am sure that it is showing up somewhere in your life. As a quick example, throughout my life I kept running into little conflicts with friends, managers and other people of authority. I always felt like the victim or like I was the problem and people treated me unfairly. Fast forward about 20 years later when I was going through my spiritual healing process, I found I had the deep belief that I was a problem. When I was a child they always told me  or insinuated I was the “Problem Child” . Unfortunately that thought stuck with me through adulthood. The great thing is  that once I forgave the past and changed that negative thought to a positive one, it no longer showed up in my life. Changing your mindset will transform your life. The key to a healthy life is a healthy mind. With a healthy mindset the possibilities are endless!
