“Meditation gives me Creative Solutions to things that at first seemed like the end of the world to me” ~Anonymous
“I Meditate so I can be a Human being, instead of a Human doing” ~ Anonymous
“When I’m in my disease, I lose the opportunity to be in those moments” ~Anonymous
“I Meditate to Catch the Good that’s within my reach. The blessings in the chaos of life are the Good within my reach” ~ Anonymous
“Meditating helps me change my “Have too’s” to “I get too’s”~ Anonymous
These are all actual quotes from real people that I heard with my own ears yesterday while attending my Alanon meeting, on the topic of Meditation. Can I just speak for us all, and say “WOW” SIGH…
So many Gems are offered to us when we just listen. Last night I took my girls to see the movie, Call of The Wild (Fantastic movie) and without giving too much away, an angry Gold miner interrogates an old man by yelling at him “Where is the Gold!”, and to which the Old man replied “It’s everywhere, it’s all around us”. That spoke volumes to me. So often we are desperate for something that is right in front of us. We’re willing to go to great lengths of hurting others and ourselves to receive what is already ours.
We do not need to mask or hide our feelings in order to cope with them. We need to be still, and look them in the eye, and say “How can I serve you child? How are you affecting me? Why am I feeling this need, or anxiety?” Usually once you ask yourself these questions you can realize that you have more control over this situation than you originally thought.
Our feelings and intuitions are a gift from God. Let’s stop looking our Gift Horse in the mouth, and learn to accept responsibility.
Meditation is the easiest, hardest, inexpensive, but most valuable thing this life as to offer us.
