As I write, I’m sitting in a hotel room in New York City. New York is the Mecca of trends, fashion, and evolution. “The Big Apple” never sleeps and people around the world look to this metropolis for fashion ideas.
It’s easy for us to get caught up in the hype, which can leave us envious of what others have and what we lack. I fall victim to this more times than not because I enjoy shopping and I’m a big fan of shoes. It’s okay to like things, but when things rule who we are, then it becomes a problem.
Always know that trends change and truth remains. When one style or brand is in the now, in no time, another brand will emerge. So never get caught up in the glitz and glamour because it won’t last for too long.
The truth is that you were skillfully and wonderfully made. Be the person who God has called you to be. Trust and hold on to his truth and you will find comfort no matter what trend emerges.
