Waiting Season

Sometimes when we are waiting for God to open a door in an area of our lives, we like to get comfortable and refuse to take action. Our waiting season should be our working season! If we look back to the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis we see him waiting for a long period of time even though he had a call on his life. God’s timing is not like ours.

We feel like we are doing everything right and still things don’t go the way we want them to. Romans 8:28 “God meant it for good”. He uses every situation even when we many not see Him working in our waiting.

While Joseph is in jail, he isn’t sitting there pouting, blaming and giving up- he uses his gifts of interpreting dreams. Im sure he watched other people’s dreams come to pass, and people being freed from prison, while his prayers of freedom seemed to go unanswered. He could have given up but he didn’t. I’m sure God was watching what Joseph was doing in his waiting season. He used the gifts God gave him even when he had no idea when it would be his turn.

It is important how we respond and what we are doing while we wait for God to open doors. We know that faith without works is dead. Don’t waste your season, it’s time to suit up. Use that time to grow spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally…start studying, taking a course, learning a new skill, ect. All of those things help you to:
1. Not focus so much on whatever you are waiting for and 2. Prepare you to receive your blessing and answered prayers. How can we receive something that we haven’t prepared and trained to hold?.

Remember this: God doesn’t break a promise. Trust his timing and his process. Pray about everything and use your time wisely!
