Hey girl, hey! It is still #WCW (Women Crush Wednesday), and if you have gone all day without crushing on yourself, I don’t know what you have been doing! Often times, as women, we are our own worse critics. We don’t like our hair, our butt, our hips, our skin etc, yet we look to others to make us feel good about ourselves. Stop! It is o.k. to accept compliments and things like that from other people, but we need to learn to be our own favorite cheerleaders.
When you look for others to lift you up and make you feel good about yourself, you are subject to their limitations. You have to either have to ask for the compliment or wait until they notice a reason to give you a compliment. We are currently in a space where many of us have been left alone with ourselves, and it is a reminder that at the end of the day, you will always be with you. Since this is the case, why not develop a mindset to cheer for yourself? I am not talking about conceit, disregarding other people’s feelings to make yourself feel good, but having the mental capacity to celebrate who you are.
Social media often plays a big part in women not being able to be themselves, out of fear that they will not be accepted. Unfortunately, this is robbing so many of us the joy of being authentic and unique in the skin that we are in. We have to stop comparing ourselves to the women who are online and ultimately just putting on a show. There are so many amazing components that contribute to our existence, that being dumb-down to our bodies and what we can do to and for a man is insulting.
We are givers of life. We turn houses into a homes. We cause minute things to multiply. We hold things together. Most things in life don’t happen without us. We deserve to be celebrated, and we have to do it ourselves. It doesn’t matter how many things are going wrong right now, I guarantee that there are things that are also going right. You may have gained the “Quarantine 15,” but you cleaned out out your cluttered makeup desk. You may have lost your job, but you now have an opportunity to focus on your dream or side business. You my not have your hair done, but you have fallen back in love with your natural hair. You may have broken up with your significant other, but you are finally free of the b.s that you had been putting up with for way too long. There is nothing that is too small about you or what you’ve done that shouldn’t be celebrated. I know that it is hard out here, but know that you are still killing it, so take time to crush on yourself!
Here are a few of my favorite affirmations…
I am fearfully and wonderfully made
I am beautiful inside and out
I am the head and not the tail
I am more than a conqueror
I am a BOSS
~Love, Peace and Blessings~
