I’m going to be straight up with you. I relapsed a gazillion times before breaking the chains of this addiction for good. So don’t worry about that.
If you relapse you can respond in one of two ways. You can become discouraged and abandon your freedom journey, or you can accept God’s forgiveness and keep moving forward.
God isn’t as hard on us as we are on ourselves. He looks at the heart and he knows that you desire to please him. Why else would you be reaching out for help?
I encourage you to hold your head up and to continue your freedom journey no matter what. I relapsed more times than I care to admit. But still, I kept proclaiming that I was free in Christ. As a result, I am free! And believe it or not, perfectionism didn’t get me here.
God has good plans for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a future and hope. A wise man once said, “God sacrificed so much for you; don’t die until you find out why.” I admonish you to keep moving forward with God and see how your life turns out. You’ll look back one day and thank God for how far he’s taken you!Â
